A quarter of the way through the season means some teams have a decent vision into what their team might look like come Spring. Many great stories of teams succeeding and plenty of blunders, but that means the trade market gets active. Teams looking to acquire that white whale or just some guys to bolster some depth are very active at this team. So I’ve taken the time to acquire some information on the rumors and possible players of deals in play on the open market. This is the 🅱️athletic’s Edition of the DDFHL Insider Trading.

MoJo’s Finest:

After trading away a struggling Alexander Radulov alongside Erik Cernak to The South Jersey ShinyFishs, GM Dan of MoJo’s Finest decided to go big game hunting. For a while there was a search for an All-Star Forward and he was vocal about moving his 1st round pick to a struggling team because of the loss of Gabriel Landeskog due to injury.

Around 5pm on December 4th, 🅱️SN had reported that Evgenii Malkin of the Reyjkavik Robbie Rottens was moved for a 2020 1st round Pick and Blake Coleman.

Hughes Your Daddy:

Before Thanksgiving, GM Sauce had issued a statement that all deals and offers would be reviewed after Thanksgiving for further assessment of his roster and his place in the standings. Now that the deadline has passed, GMs of many teams have come to struggling teams like him in hopes of acquiring his star talent.

GM Sauce understand his value of his players and knows that he wants 1st round picks and Keepers in exchange for his talented players. A being thrown about are Taylor Hall who was deemed available the day after Thanksgiving.

Spokane Sharpshooters

GM Huntsy and AGM Yianni1229 have been scavenging the market to add to their defense as they still remain the best team in the lead at the top of the standings. At first they were looking for depth defenseman due to the struggles of Shayne Gostisbehere and the FA Defeneseman picks, but not rumblings have foretold that they’re big game hunting.

GM Huntsy is looking for stability in his D core and has reached out to Hughes Your Daddy about a possible deal. Talks have remained constant as Huntsy said Quinn Hughes may be a part of this deal but is unwilling to part with his 1st round pick.

Yorkshire Tea Bags

Facing major injury troubles as Viktor Arvidsson out long term and Dylan Strome are out and Mitch Marner just coming back from injury, GM Andy remains steadfast in terms of his roster. GM Andy stated quote,

“I think the boys can just about make the playoffs, they’ve performed better in recent weeks, it’s too early for me to write the team off yet.”

Andy’s team sits currently at the 11th spot in the standings. But based on how well Connor McDavid has done for his team and the depth of his roster when healthy, there is still a decent chance that he can squeak into a playoff spot. Although no one major has been told to be available, PK Subban who has been under performing has the possibility to be the odd man out.

Panarin’s Pastries, Bakery and Bread

In an interview with GM Zoned he was very vocal about his success and the direction of his team sitting atop as the second best team in the standings. When asked about trade or block information Zoned replied,

“Funny you mention a trade. I just messaged a struggling team who has a asset worth a pretty penny. I am happy with my team but I figured that I’m in a position to win it all this year so I should go for it. Trading draft picks seems like a good way to supplement those trades to get a player better than what you have. You just have to trust that your drafting can hold up next year… Anyone and everyone is on the block for me and I’m always looking to make a deal but Voracek is someone who I’m disappointed with and would be willing to parts ways.

South Jersey Jackalopes

AGM Pillatypus has been surprising as one of the bigger personalities in the market as he does plenty of research and seeks out the best deals for his GM Jhony. At the moment, the Jackalopes are looking to get back in the hunt despite the absence of Sidney Crosby. Not much was stated about their activity in the field currently but has mentioned that they have a possible trade from a team shipping depth players out and are not looking to move any high end pieces but picks are in play.

Gold Coast Koalas

The Gold Coast Koalas after having a tough start to the season have surprised many doubters as he currently remains the 8th place team in the standings. GM Film has had supreme confidence in his team but is willing to pursue some top end talent to support Steven Stamkos and Shea Weber. When asked about this Film with confidence replied back to me with,

Currently looking for top end talent to add more firepower. I’m active in a sense I’m reaching out to GMs but nothing really has come of those talks. Currently no trades in the wing. I look at every team and I reach out to a lot of them if I think there’s something. It’s obvious but teams near the bottom of the standings are going to reach a point where they will look to next season vs this season and I’m always reaching out to them cause we are focusing on making the playoffs and making a run .
